This guide aims to give an overview of connectors and plugs in common use for power and battery tap connections.
2-Pin JST
A very popular connector used for 1 or 2 cell Li-Po battery packs due to the low current draw and weight saving size.
Bullet Connectors
Probably the widest used connector for Li-Po battery and charge lead connections. Available in sizes from 2mm to 8mm diameters. Rated continous currents:
2mm = 20-Amp
3.5mm = 60-Amp
4mm = 80-Amp
5.5mm = 120-Amp
8mm = 170-Amp
Deans Connectors
A very popular connector able to handle high current draw. The downside is the unshield male pins can be easily short circuited if touched with a screw driver or any metal object, so best to use the female connector on batteries.
EC3 Connectors
A very popular connector able to handle high current draw up to 60-Amps. We like the fact that both the male and female plugs are shielded so eliminating the risk of any short circuits and they can be easily gripped when connecting or disconnecting.
EC5 Connectors
The big brother to the EC3, the EC5 can handle high current draw, up to 120-Amps.
JST-EH
A very common battery tap connector used on various brand battery packs such as Align and Dualsky.
JST-XH
A very common battery tap connector used on various brands battery packs such as Kokam, Graupner and Robbe.
PolyQuest / Hyperion
As used on PolyQuest and Hyperion battery packs.
FlightPower / Thunder Power
As used on FlightPower, FlightTech and Thunder Power battery packs.
